Sweet, sweet summer.
So excited to kick of this year’s summer mini sessions with the Locke Family! We decided on a gorgeous sunny afternoon at to the private residential beach at Castaway Cove Wave 1, nice and close to home. There are a few amazing things to celebrate with this shoot, and I think it makes it that much more special.
First, we have the kids, and let’s just face it – they grow up so fast, so it’s always so important to document life in the early years! Then, we have a new baby on the way! A little girl, coming soon this August. And finally, we have the sweetest little springer spaniel who is in her golden years – don’t even get me started on why that’s important. As a dog-mom who treats my pups like actual children, I know all too well that there just aren’t enough years with our furry best friends.

So, all in all, it was a wonderfully exceptional beach day for everyone. And can you believe we were able to capture all these amazing portraits in just 20 minutes?! Yes, that’s right! My summer lifestyle minis are literally amazing for small groups and young kids because they are SO quick, and it’s literally half the price of my full portrait sessions, which typically are a little more formal and traditional. When you only have 20 minutes to capture everything, it means we really have to make the most of the time. And since the kids just want to run and play anyway, it’s the ultimate scenario for super authentic, unposed portraits.
