I always joke and say that when prepping scheduling a beach session – it’s a good idea to prepare for a little bit of chaos. Whether it’s wind, rain, sand, sun, or just a rowdy bunch of kids. But – it’s good chaos! It’s real, raw, and unique for each and every family. The part that makes it special is when you embrace it – that’s when the magical moments happen!
Lifestyle family photography is a special kind of portraiture that aims to capture you, as you are, in real-life.
I hope we get the time to get to know each other a little bit better.
Why, you ask? Because connecting with you is very important to me! I want to know what is going on at this point in your life to make you want to have professional portraits taken – whether it’s a special occasion, life milestone, or just portraits for the sake of portraits – my personal favorite!
And, what I want you to know is that this experience I offer is more than just showing up, snapping a few photos, and us going our separate ways. My entire client experience is centered around creating joyful, emotionally driven portraits. Capturing the real stuff. It’s ideal that you know this before booking with me, because not everyone is comfortable with the idea of letting the walls down and being captured in this way.
With this being said, some of the things I might prompt during our session together may go a little something like this:
“On the count of three, I want everyone to breakdown into their best dance moves!”
“Everyone dogpile on dad!”
“Who can give mom the biggest hug?”
Each client experience is a little unique, but that’s all part of the magic. We will still get our “safe shots” of everyone smiling and looking at the camera, but that’s not the meat of what we’ll spend our time doing together.
If that’s not your jam, I completely understand! I know it’s not everyone’s cup of tea. Depending on your comfort level, I can scale back on the fun stuff and keep things traditional. BUT, I really encourage you to be open to the fun so we can get really meaningful photos together. I’ll coach you every step of the way!

My portrait sessions include fully-retouched digital files showcased in a beautiful and private online gallery.
