As a photographer, I always look for unique and interesting locations to photograph my clients. So when my client, Lexie, asked me to do her maternity photoshoot in a parking garage and the downtown marina, I was thrilled with the idea.
We started our shoot in the parking garage, which may sound like an odd choice, but the space had a great industrial feel to it. The lines and curves of the structure provided a fantastic backdrop for Jessica’s photos, creating a moody and dramatic effect. We experimented with different angles, and I used my expertise in lighting to capture some stunning shots of Jessica and her baby bump.
Next, we moved on to the downtown marina, which was a complete contrast to the parking garage. The marina was bright and vibrant, with boats lining the dock and the sea breeze blowing through our hair. We took advantage of the natural lighting and picturesque scenery to capture some breathtaking photos of Lexie, who positively glowed in the shots.
Lexie was a natural in front of the camera throughout the shoot, and Nick was beaming with new-dad pride. I knew we would be comfortable together because I had already photographed their engagement and wedding! It was so special to see them in this new phase of life. We tried out different poses, and I captured some intimate and emotional moments between the couple as they eagerly anticipated the arrival of their new addition to the family.
As the shoot wrapped up, Jessica and her husband expressed their gratitude, thrilled with the final results. The photo shoot was unique and unexpected, but the images were stunning, capturing the essence of this special time in their lives. It was another reminder of why I love my job so much- being able to capture these unforgettable moments for my clients to cherish forever.
