Jaycee Beach Family Photoshoot
Welcome the Welches! Here in town for a short while during a summer break to visit family, they were brave enough to face my favorite time slot for family photography – SUNRISE! And sunrise at the boardwalk at Jaycee Beach is like no other.
And what’s exciting – the Welch’s have baby #3 on the way! And although this wasn’t a maternity photoshoot, we certainly made sure to grab some photos of that bump!
Sunrise vs. Sunset Beach Photos – What’s the Difference?
People often wonder what the difference is between shooting at sunrise versus sunset at the beach, and other than the obvious of having to wake up before the crack of dawn, with the way I shoot, sunrise sessions tend to be a bit more on the “rosy” or “pink” side. If we make it early enough to get the sun JUST as it breaks the horizon on a nice day, the sky’s colors are UNREAL.
Sunsets are nice, too, but since we are east coast and the sun sets on the west, the sky is pretty and pastel, but usually not as dramatic or bold.
Also, sunrise sessions tend to have less wind AND calmer waves, much better for the little ones who want to get their toes wet but don’t want to get pummeled by rough waves. COUNT ME IN.
